On Wednesday August 29, 2018 I had the privilege of photographing Jon’s surprise proposal to Emily. Part of why I do this job is because I get to experience such intimate, important moment’s in people’s lives. I feel incredibly honored to have been part of this special day.
Jon and Emily met in Jordan and their love story grew as they traveled the world. They came to NYC to visit their friend Ben and see the classic New York sites but to Emily’s surprise, Jon had bigger plans up his sleeve. Ben had set up lights reading “Marry Me” on the railing in Brooklyn bridge city park, where the city and bridge lit up behind them at dawn.
Ben and I waited as the sun set and the skyline turned dark. The couple had dinner in the city and took the ferry over to Brooklyn, just in time for the city skyline to light up in the night. The anticipation rose as people kept stopping and admiring the adorable gesture, wondering when the couple were going to arrive. Around 8pm, their ferry docked and they walked over to the water.
That’s when Jon got on one knee and asked for her hand in Marriage.
Teers fell from their eyes as she accepted their new forever.
The ring was beautiful, blue white – it fit her style perfectly.
I could not have dreamed up a more romantic and genuine proposal.
Congratulations to the two of you and thank you for having me as part of your big moment. I am wishing you both the best for your marriage.
